Thunder rumbled and Josie winced. ''You are not to go back there, Josie." Raphael shouted so loud her ears hurt. "Disobeying my orders could result in forfeiting your eternal reward. Is that what you want?" He sighed and lowered his voice. "Please, Josie. I know this is hard for you. But you have to meet a new arrival very soon. That is what you should be concentrating on. You've done everything you can for your daughter." |

Josie's heart gave a painful thump. They had sent her mother to greet her. Did that mean she was being sent to greet . . . "Not D.J." Josie reached out a hand in supplication toward Raphael. "Please tell me she isn't going to die today." |

"I can't tell you the future." |

"And you will, too. Very soon. Let D.J. meet her own destiny. I guarantee it will be the right one for her. Have faith, dear Josie. We know what we're doing." |

Josie closed her eyes and tried to find her faith. But it was all twisted up with fear for her daughter, and she just couldn't do it. Then a new and just as frightening thought came to her. |

What if the new arrival turned out to be Christian? D.J. would be devastated. Just as Ed had been.
